Management
The disciplinary system that I would like to establish is simple yet effective. There will be a laminated poster on the board with a smiley face, warning sign, a sad face, and thumbs up and down. Each student will have their name written on a clothes pin and everyone will start the day on the smiley face. This means the students are having a good day. If a student is doing something they should not be doing I will move their clothes pin to the warning. Usually, students will alter their behavior once they see they have a warning. If they continue to misbehave I will give them a verbal warning that what they are doing needs to stop and move their clothes pin to a sad face which means they are not having a good day. If the student continues to be disruptive after the verbal warning they have a decision to make. They can make a good choice by staying in class and promise to change their behavior or they can make a bad choice and be sent to the office. This is usually the last problem I have with the student for the day; however, every once in a while a student will take their misbehavior to an extreme. The student may make a scene in the class by disrespecting me or throwing a tantrum. In this kind of situation, it is important for me to stay calm. I will write the student a pass to the office and he/she will need to leave and deal with the principle.
Procedures:
-Start the morning by completing the board assignments
-Students will complete their weekly jobs assigned to them.
-At the end of the day, students will help clean up the classroom and participate in the daily review before leaving.
